Okay, here you go ladies, a little tip for the morning coffee. If you're anything like me, the morning doesn't begin until you have a giant cup of coffee steaming in your hands (or tea, sometimes its a english tea day). There are a lot of benefits that can come from drinking coffee, BUT most people are abusing their little piece of heaven. Let's do some math
Coffee my old way:
1-16oz cup- 5 calories
3- sugar packets- 45 calories
2-tablespoons of half and half- 50 calories (ha, more like 4 tablespoons..)
That's a hundred calorie cup of joe. Not too bad, but lets do it my new way
Coffee my new way:
1- 16 oz cup- 5 calories
2- tablespoons of Silk Vanilla Soymilk- 25 calories
I just cut 70 calories and got the same effect. The sweetness of the vanilla soymilk doubles as a sweetner and cuts the need for sugar.
What do you save:
70 calories a day x 5 times a week x 52 weeks in a year = 18200 calories
3500 calories make up a pound so when you divide 18200 by 3500, that's 5.2 pounds. Ladies, that's 5 pounds you'll never gain and potentially lose just by switching what you sweeten with in the morning.
We can take this a step furthur by icing our coffee. Our body has to heat cold drinks up when they enter the body, thus spending energy (calories!) doing so. Ergo, and iced coffee in the morning gives you even more weight loss potential.
Now go forth and show the world what you're made of, but don't forget your coffee! We'll cut the frump one sip at a time
