Goodmorning! It has certainly been a few days since I've posted. I've been caught up teaching at a summer camp and haven't been anywhere near a computer, so I appologize.
But, let's get on with the topic of the day: breakfast!
People say that breakfast is the biggest meal of the day, but I feel that many people go overboard with it. So my suggestion is a smoothie! And take it a step further and make it a raw smoothie by freshly squeezing your own orange juice before hand. Here are a few recipes that make 16 oz.
Banana-Strawberry:
- 6 oz of either OJ, Apple Juice, or Soy Milk
- 1 Cup of Strawberries
- half of a banana
-1 cup of ice
- Throw ingredients together and blend til smooth
Mango-Strawberry:
- 6 oz apple juice
- 1 cup mango
- half cup strawberry
- 1 cup ice
- blend til smooth

Tone those calf muscles!
Good morning ladies! Well, good morning to the Gentlemen as well though I'm not sure this is a blog that would interest them. Today we are going to look at our legs. Ooooo probably not a good thing for most people.
Okay, I have two easy things for you to do to make your calf muscles more toned and get rid of that jiggle when you walk.
1.) Take the stairs. You've heard that a gazillion times. Well, that's because its true and it works. Not only will taking the stairs help tone your legs but will also put a little 'omph' in your behind. And who doesn't want a nice tight butt???
2.) When you're brushing your teeth (and following the steps I outlined for you), put your feet at shoulders lenght apart, rise up to stand on your toes, lower yourself, and then repeat for the entire time you're brushing. You should feel the burn really quick! Focus on doing at least twenty. Push push push!

The easiest five pounds you'll ever lose
Okay, here you go ladies, a little tip for the morning coffee. If you're anything like me, the morning doesn't begin until you have a giant cup of coffee steaming in your hands (or tea, sometimes its a english tea day). There are a lot of benefits that can come from drinking coffee, BUT most people are abusing their little piece of heaven. Let's do some math
Coffee my old way:
1-16oz cup- 5 calories
3- sugar packets- 45 calories
2-tablespoons of half and half- 50 calories (ha, more like 4 tablespoons..)
That's a hundred calorie cup of joe. Not too bad, but lets do it my new way
Coffee my new way:
1- 16 oz cup- 5 calories
2- tablespoons of Silk Vanilla Soymilk- 25 calories
I just cut 70 calories and got the same effect. The sweetness of the vanilla soymilk doubles as a sweetner and cuts the need for sugar.
What do you save:
70 calories a day x 5 times a week x 52 weeks in a year = 18200 calories
3500 calories make up a pound so when you divide 18200 by 3500, that's 5.2 pounds. Ladies, that's 5 pounds you'll never gain and potentially lose just by switching what you sweeten with in the morning.
We can take this a step furthur by icing our coffee. Our body has to heat cold drinks up when they enter the body, thus spending energy (calories!) doing so. Ergo, and iced coffee in the morning gives you even more weight loss potential.
Now go forth and show the world what you're made of, but don't forget your coffee! We'll cut the frump one sip at a time

Let's talk teeth
As I said yesterday, a smile is a very important part of being you. BUT, a scary bad smelling yellow smile if not attractive at all. It doesn't matter if your teeth aren't straight, honey that's part of your charm, but no one (in a first world country) has an excuse for poor dental hygiene. So here are a few tips to a more dazzling smile.
1.) Brush your teeth. Not hard and you should definately be doing it at least twice a day. I recommend using Tom of Maine's all natural toothpaste. It doesn't burn my mouth and has a pleasant aftertaste. I recomend the wintermint. It used to only be available at health food stores but now even WalMart and Target carry it.
2.) Floss. Not everyday because I know you won't, but flossing is important for gum health and you don't want tooth decay, do you? I recomment buying the disposable reachers that help you get into the back of your mouth. Don't forget to get back there!
3.) If you have bad breath, use a mouth wash. Again, I recommend Tom of Maine's ,but Listerine works just as well. If you want to burn your mouth off...
4.) Tongue scraper. Do it before you brush to get build up off your tongue to promote better breath.

Step one to beating the frump
Do you know what the most tell tale sign (in my opinion) that shows others that a woman is unhappy with herself? Her body language. Ladies, the best and easiest thing you can do to remove the frump is to change how you hold yourself. So here is my daily advice on how to be the stunner we all know you are.
1.) Stand up straight. Research shows that good body posture can make it look like you've dropped ten pounds. TEN POUNDS, just by standing up straight. So throw those shoulders back, straighten that spine, and stop slouching. It might be a little tiring at first, but that's a good thing. Your muscles around your middle aren't used to it, so you'll be building those and making them strongers.
2.) Smile. Nothing is more attractive on a woman than a smile on her face. It makes people wonder what she's smiling about and makes her that much more mysterious. And it takes years off of your face.
3.) Start each day off on a positive note. Optimists live longer and healthier lives (not to mention happier ones too). So each morning when you look in the mirror, say something positive to yourself. It doesn't have to be serious. I normally say something like "hey there sexy, ready to conquer the world?" Tell yourself that you're beautiful!

And so it begins
Greeting from a sometimes foreign world; a world where girls who are a size 8 think they are fat and where reaching for that second donut or two scoops of ice cream has become taboo ("oooo try the fat free low carb gelato" .... uh, how about the Brownie Batter Mix?) . Whatever happened to having curves and not being a rail who looks like they've been sick for the past three years?
My name is Frump Girl, but you can call me Fru. I have a few confessions to make: I love eatting and I likewise, I'm a size 14. Guess what: I don't care. Ladies, it is one thing to be bigger, but we can make it work. Don't look at the models and say "I wish I was skinny like her". You are better than her because your stronger mentality doesn't make you give into societal pressure to look like an anorexic twig.
Here's another confession: I used to be unhappy with the way I was. I have quickly learned that its not how others view you but how you view yourself that is important. You need to be happy with how you are before you should even begin to let others dictate what you should look like.
My blogging goal: The point of this blog is to update all my fellow frump girls on fashion that will help us look amazing, beauty secrets that make heads turn, and give every woman, no matter what size, the confidence that she deserves.
